Luca Ferracciolo

Luca Ferracciolo

Role: Race Engineer to James Ellison
Home Town: Porto Recanati
Years with GSE: 3
Thoughts on BSB: "Last year we had new riders, new bikes and new tyres, and it ended up being one of the best seasons ever, it was great to win the championship with Shakey! For 2009 there's another big challenge but we can't wait to start work with the new bike. GSE is such a strong team that I’m confident in our ability to defend our title!"

Luca is flown over from Italy for each race weekend. It is his job to find the best mapping and set-up for James Ellison's bike. On working for GSE Racing he says, 'This is the best team to work for... during the race weekends there’s a lot of tough work, but also a lot of fun!'

Luca’s favourite sportsmen outside of motorcycling are Alex Del Piero and Kobe Bryant.
Dave Gibson

Dave Gibson

Role: Mechanic for James Ellison
Home Town: Swindon
Years with GSE: 5
Thoughts on BSB: "2008 was a great year to be a part of GSE Racing and the British Superbike Championship. We weren’t off of the podium for a great deal of the season and we’ll be looking for more of the same in 2009."

Dave, or T2 as he is sometimes known, has a varied history and has raced with many teams in motorsport. He is delighted to be a part of GSE Racing’s championship campaign with new partner Yamaha.

Off the track, Dave is a fan of Evangeline Lilly and closely follows the sporting achievements of Lance Armstrong.
Jason Wright

Jason Wright

Role: Mechanic for Leon Camier
Home Town: Burton on Trent
Years with GSE: First year
Thoughts on BSB: "Probably the best motor sport on television".

Jason has assisted GSE Racing at various points over the last 4 years but will join the team full-time in 2009 as mechanic to Leon. On the year ahead Jason commented, “It's a new challenge that I'm really looking forward to. The atmosphere within the team is something else”.

In his spare time Jason enjoys the odd pint and getting wii fit.
Christian Moretti

Christian Moretti

Role: Electronic Engineer
Home Town: Milan
Years with GSE: 3
Thoughts on BSB: 'I'm proud to stay in the team for the 4th season! Last year winning the Championship was incredible but that is the past…now we have to win it with the new bike. It will not be easy but we can do it because we are the best team.'

Christian joined the team in February 2006. A man of few words but many superstitions and favourite sportsmen - too many to name apparently! His ambition is simple: "to win always!" From 2001 - 2005 Christian worked as an electronic technician for MW Competitzioni, Racing Lions – Peugeot in the Italian Rally Championship, Kessel Racing in the Italian Gran Tourismo Championship with Ferrari 360GT, and in the European Ferrari Challenge with the Ferrari 360 Modena.
Ashley Banks

Ashley Banks

Role: Workshop Coordinator and Tyre Technician
Home Town: Burton on Trent
Years with GSE: 7
Thoughts on BSB: "I’m really looking forward to the season ahead and hopeful of continuing our success in the championship."

Ashley joined GSE in 2001 and fulfils numerous different roles on a day-to-day basis, including office duties, supplier management and responsibility for the team truck. His favourite moment of the 2008 season was the final round at Brands Hatch where Shane scored a double win and both riders finished on the podium.

Ash names Peter Osgood amongst his heroes.

Dave Allenby

Role: Team Engine Builder
Home Town: Coventry
Years with GSE: 5
Thoughts on BSB: "This year we'll be working as hard as ever to win the championship with our riders first and second all the time!"

Dave completes the trio of namesakes within the GSE team and brings years of experience with him from time at RedBull Ducati, Renegade Ducati, HRC Honda and CM Engineering. A huge karting enthusiast and mountain biker away from the track, ‘Desmo’ rates Mohammed Ali as a sporting hero and within two wheel motorsports, Mick Doohan.

While Dave’s favourite track is Donington Park, his favourite moment of 2008 took place at Silverstone where the GSE team clinched the championship.
