Darrell Healey

Darrell Healey

Role: Team Principal
Home Town: Monaco
Years with GSE: Since the beginning
Thoughts on BSB: “A fantastically competitive race series with tremendous media and general public support. I continue to be impressed and immensely proud of GSE Racing establishing themselves as the most successful British Superbike team of all time.”

As founder and team principle, Darrell has been with GSE Racing since the beginning. Darrell’s success on the track is mirrored in business having built the GSE Group into a highly successful set of construction companies. Amongst his favourite moments since forming GSE Racing are Troy Bayliss winning the world championship, James Toseland's first WSB win in 2003 and of course the team winning a record 4th BSB title in 2008. Away from the track Darrell likes travelling, fast cars and the odd round of golf.
Colin Wright

Colin Wright

Role: Team Manager
Home Town: Burton on Trent
Years with GSE: 11
Thoughts on BSB: "GSE Racing has enjoyed many achievements over the years and become the most successful team in BSB history thanks to a great team effort. I’m confident we can again play a major part in the 2009 Championship. I’m sure it will be the most exciting season ever!"

Colin started in motorsport with Kawasaki in 1978. His favourite moments are his multiple British Superbike Title wins and winning the World Superbike round at Donington Park as a wild card with Neil Hodgson. He likes getting the job done and hates excuses.
Mandy Cooper

Mandy Cooper

Role: PA to Team Manager/ Hospitality & Events Coordinator
Home Town: Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire
Years with GSE: 8
Thoughts on BSB: "Last year was fantastic for all those involved at GSE Racing. 2009 is promising to be an equally exciting season; we've new bikes, a new rider, and a new hospitality unit!"

Mandy provides undoubted professionalism and support off the track- she will take charge of much of the off-track logistics, most particularly managing sponsor events and all the hospitality aspects at the races. She has a huge experience of British Superbikes since starting with GSE in 2001 (initially part time) and is intent on making sure GSE Racing has the ‘best hospitality and team in the paddock’.

In her spare time Mandy enjoys sailing and walking, and rates Steve Redgrave amongst her heroes.

On working at GSE Racing Mandy says, “It's honestly the best job in the world!”
Dave Parkes

Dave Parkes

Role: Chief Mechanic for James Ellison and Workshop Foreman
Home Town: Coventry
Years with GSE: 12
Thoughts on BSB: "2008 was fantastic, but now we look to the future and concentrate on securing a fifth Superbike title."

A motorsport veteran for a number of years, Dave has been with GSE since the ‘beginning of the adventure’ in 1997 and is delighted to still be with the team. He’s been involved in 8 British titles and 2 World championships in the past and also has Touring Cars experience. His favourite circuits include Laguna Seca and he names GSE’s World Superbike win at Donington in 2000 as his favourite moment in motorsport. Away from the circuits, Dave enjoys golf, motorcross and Italian food and rates Ian Botham amongst his sports heroes.
Pete Bancewicz

Pete Bancewicz

Role: Chief Mechanic for Leon Camier
Home Town: Stockport
Years with GSE: 11
Thoughts on BSB: "I had a really great first year working with Leon and I’m looking forward to some more great results in 2009 with him on the Yamaha."

Another stalwart from the early GSE days, Pete brings huge amounts of experience to the team. He is setting his sights high for this season, hoping to score more wins with rider Leon Camier. Pete names Leon’s first BSB win at Snetterton as his best moment of the 2008 campaign.

A hugely popular figure, Pete enjoys the odd beer and honing his guitar playing skills when not providing mechanical expertise for Leon.
Frankie Carchedi

Frankie Carchedi

Role: Race Engineer to Leon Camier
Home Town: Lincoln
Years with GSE: 9
Thoughts on BSB: "It was fantastic to win the BSB championship for the 4th time last year! Leon finished the year very strongly, improving with every round. 2009 will be an exciting season for GSE Racing with a new manufacturer in Yamaha. I am looking forward to working with Leon once again, and who knows... hopefully we can retain the championship!"

Another one of the team who was part of GSE’s early days in Superbikes, Frankie is looking forward to competing hard for the Championship this year with memories still fresh of GSE’s success. ‘Funtime’ has been analysing telemetry and performance data for over 9 years and hates losing. A tough competitor, Frankie is a big fan of former GSE rider, Troy Bayliss. Frankie attributes the success of GSE to the team’s experience: “I think if you add the years between us all it would amount to over 60 years which speaks for itself. It's one big happy family hence the success we have all had”.
